  • What platforms does AxiTrader offer?
    AxiTrader offers the award-winning Metatrader 4 platform for trading Forex, Indices and commodities. We also offer mobile trading platforms for iPhone, Android and iPad. These platforms are all free of charge.
  • What’s the time setting on your MetaTrader 4 platform? Can it be changed?
    The time setting that appears on AxiTrader’s Metatrader 4 is GMT+3 which is also known as ‘New York Close’. This means trading begins at 00:00 server time, with the daily rollover occurring at the same time each day. This time cannot be changed on the platform. This is to avoid what is known as a ‘weekend candle’ which would appear on a Sunday with GMT based platforms.
  • How do I move my own chart settings to another PC?
    Simply go to ‘File’ up the top left of your MT4 platform, go to profiles, then select ‘save as’. Following this, go into your Metatrader –AxiTrader folder in ‘Program files’, copy the folder named ‘profiles’ and paste it into your new Metatrader folder. You can do the same for the indicator folders and also expert’s folder.
  • Is your MT4 Platform Mac compatible?
    MT4 is not directly compatible with Mac software but you do have alternative options to make it Mac compatible.

    Click on the following link to download the AxiTrader MT4 install file: www.axitrader.com/files/mt4setup.exe
    Click on “Wineskin” download on desktop and click on “ Install Software”
    Locate install file program from “Downloads” folder within the finder and then click “Choose” in the bottom right-hand corner.

  • I received an error message saying ‘trade context is busy’
    This error can occur because of the server receiving multiple requests for the same order/trade. To resolve, please close the Metatrader 4 platform and re-open again.
  • Why do I see an invalid account message?
    For Live accounts This is either one of two errors: incorrect login, or password. Contact Customer support if you are still having issues after attempting to re-enter details. Email service@axitrader.com.au or call our toll free number within Australia 1300 888 936 (+61 2 9965 5830 international call)
    For Demo Accounts This means you’ve either entered the wrong login or password, or most likely your 30 day demo has expired. You can get access to an unlimited demo by opening and funding a live account. Once opened, send your MT4 Demo login to service@axitrader.com.au to make it unlimited.
  • Why is the market closed for 5 mins from 00:00 to 00:05 – and why can’t I trade on my platform for 5 mins from this time?
    AxiTrader closes the market between 00.00-00.05 on the platform to avoid clients being stopped out on the widened spreads that occur in the interbank market at the close of the trading day. At 00.00 traders in the US switch to electronic trading at the start of the Asian trading day, during this changeover the spreads in the market become excessive for a 5 minute period. In order to prevent our clients from being filled on bad spreads we close the market to ensure you aren’t affected by it. During this period you will not be able to open or close any positions as the market will not be open for trading on the platform.
  • Is the pricing on the chart the bid price or the ask price?
    The pricing that is shown on MT4 is the Bid price (SELL price). To show the Ask price (BUY price), right click on the chart, then click “Properties”. Under the Common tab in the new window, tick on ‘Show Ask line’. Please note you will not be able to see the ‘ASK’ price/line historically.
  • What time is the daily server restart?
    As part of the standard features of the MetaTrader 4 platform, AxiTrader’s MT4 server performs a daily optimisation and restart at 05:35 server time.
  • Why does my platform not perform the live update?
    The most common cause for live updates not running automatically is due to the version of Windows you are using. For those clients who are using Windows Vista or Windows 7 you will need to make sure that MT4 is set to ‘run as an administrator’ so that it can perform the live updates as required and when they are released. To run the platform as administrator, right click on your desktop icon, and click “Run as administrator”. When you now open your platform you will be prompted to complete a Live Update.
